The first quarter competition of the 24th season of the Road to Mount Olympia features four male contestants: Tran Trung Kien from Le Hong Phong High School, Phu Yen; Nguyen Phuc Minh Anh from Thach That High School, Hanoi; Nguyen Huu Tung from Don Duong High School, Lam Dong; and Chu Ngọc Quang Vinh from Nguyen Tat Thanh Specialized High School, Yen Bai.
Beating 32 other formidable opponents, all four young men are the best mountaineers, having triumphed in the first quarter's weekly and monthly competitions.

In warm up round 1, the contestants went through individual rounds where each contestant had to answer 6 questions worth 10 points each. Trung Kien performed exceptionally well, scoring 40 out of 60 points. Minh Anh and Huu Tung both scored 20 points, while Quang Vinh scored 30 points.
Warm-up round 2 consisted of 12 questions, which required the contestants to concentrate and buzz in to answer.
After a total of 36 questions in the warm-up round, Minh Anh leads with 55 points, Trung Kien and Quang Vinh both have 40 points, and Huu Tung has 15 points.
Overcoming Obstacles Round: Trung Kien excelled at finding the right keywords
Overcoming obstacles with a 5-letter keyword. Immediately after the first row was solved, Trung Kien and Huu Tung both jumped in to answer the keyword. Trung Kien gave the answer VNEID, while Huu Tung said e-mail. In a tense moment, host Ngoc Huy announced that the correct keyword was VNEID.
The correct answer helped Trung Kiên move into the lead with 110 points, while Minh Anh has 65 points, Quang Vinh 50 points and Huu Tung 25 points.
Acceleration round: Trung Kien extends lead
The Acceleration round allows competitors to quickly increase their score. Trung Kien continues to build on his advantage from the Overcoming Obstacles round, scoring an impressive 170 points to temporarily take the lead. Minh Anh, Huu Tung and Quang Vinh have scores of 75, 55 and 90 respectively.
The Finish Line: Trung Kien shows outstanding performance
With the highest current score, Trung Kien is the first to enter the Crossing the Finish Line round. The first maths question proved challenging for the young man from Phu Yen and he didn't score any points. However, Trung Kien continues to excel in the next two questions, answering them correctly to take his score to 220 points.

Quang Vinh is the second contestant to qualify for the Finish Line round. After an incorrect answer to the first question, Quang Vinh placed his hope in the lucky star, but luck was not on his side. Minh Anh stepped in to answer, but gave the wrong answer, resulting in a deduction of points. Quang Vinh answered the third question correctly, raising his score to 100.

As the third contestant to cross the Finish Line, Minh Anh said "I have nothing to lose" and chose three questions worth 30 points each. However, Minh Anh got all three questions wrong, despite using the lucky star on the third question.
Trung Kien came in twice to answer Minh Anh's questions, but only one was correct, giving him a total of 235 points.

Huu Tung is the last contestant to cross the Finish Line. Despite being the contestant with the lowest score after the first three rounds, this round will help him move up to second place.

After four rounds of intense drama - warming up, overcoming obstacles, accelerating and crossing the finish line - Tran Trung Kien wins the first quarter's laurel wreath with 235 points. Huu Tung secured second place with 165 points, Quang Vinh came third with 85 points, and Minh Anh finished fourth.
The final scores for the four contestants are Trung Kien 235, Minh Anh 5, Huu Tung 165, and Quang Vinh 85.
With his victory, Trung Kien, a student from Le Hong Phong High School, brings the live television feed of the 2024 Road to Mount Olympia Finals back to Phu Yen. This is also the first time that Phu Yen has hosted a live television feed of the Road to Mount Olympia Finals.
