In response to the Vietnamese Language Day in overseas Vietnamese communities on September 8 every year, the Department of International Programs (VTV4), Vietnam Television, in coordination with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organized a special artistic performance, the "Beloved Mother Tongue" program.
The program will tell touching and inspiring stories about the love and dedication to the preservation of Vietnamese language and Vietnamese national cultural identity of Vietnamese communities in five continents and at the same time honor Vietnamese ambassadors, people who have actively contributed to the activities of spreading Vietnamese language and culture to the world.
Following the success of the program "Vietnamese Oh" in 2022, the program honoring Vietnamese language in 2023 with the theme "Beloved Mother Tongue" will take the audience through the levels of emotions in five chapters: Origins; Vietnamese - My Language; Spreading Vietnamese; Journey Back; Vietnamese Messengers.
With its large scale, strong impact and unique content, the "Beloved Mother Tongue" Gala Night will be a meaningful gift to overseas Vietnamese, while conveying a message of gratitude to domestic and foreign individuals and organizations who have actively contributed to activities in honor of the Vietnamese language, as well as practical activities to promote the learning and use of Vietnamese in the community.
The Gala Night in Honor of Vietnamese Language 2023 with the theme "Beloved Mother Tongue" will be held on September 8, 2023 at 8:00 pm at Au Co Art Center, Hanoi and will be broadcast live on channels VTV2, VTV4, VTVgo and Fanpage VTV4.
