Binh Thuan's dragon fruit granted PGI in Japan
VTV.vn - Dragon fruit from Binh Thuan province has been awarded the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) certificate in Japan, three years after an application was submitted.

This is the second fruit from Vietnam to receive PGI status in Japan after Lục Ngạn lychee. The approval of the PGI for Binh Thuan's dragon fruit has contributed to improving its reputation and creating favorable conditions for the dragon fruit to enter other foreign markets such as Europe, South Korea, and New Zealand.

Fruits granted PGI are often sold at high prices in Japan and are favored by consumers. Binh Thuan province is also training farmers and enterprises in growing, preliminary processing, and packaging fruits according to international standards.
