VTV.vn - On June 17, State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc signed Decision No.997/QD-CTN on awarding the Third-class Labour Medal to two units under the Ministry of Defence, namely the Chemical Corps and the Military Institute of Preventive Medicine.

In recent times, the Chemical Corps has promptly advised the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defence to issue documents on the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic in chemical units of the whole army; participated in drills to handle situations simulating epidemics arising at Thanh Thuy International Border Gate; organised three drills in the Cops and chemical units of the whole army; etc.

In addition, the affiliated and chemical units of the whole army sprayed disinfection for areas in 24 provinces and cities, while at the same time, well executing the COVID-19 prevention and control work, serving the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure.

Meanwhile, the Military Institute of Preventive Medicine sent more than 510 staff to serve the COVID-19 prevention and control work at 142 units in the whole army; directly investigated, handled and extinguished two COVID-19 outbreaks at Factory Z153 and the Military Medical Hospital 105 and one meningococcal outbreak at Army Officer School 1; sent forces to join the Technical Team of the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Defence; as well as participated in professional consultations at epidemic hot spots in the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister has also decided to present the PM’s Certificates of Merit to 10 collectives and 4 individuals who have made outstanding achievements and directly participating in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic.
