Hanoi announces penalties for anti-pandemic violations
VTV.vn - Hanoi has announced 16 acts of violations of regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control.

The highest fine is up to 8,500 USD or imprisonment, in which the maximum prison sentence is 20 years, for acts of speculation, hoarding goods, or spreading fake news about the pandemic situation.

As for the act of not wearing a mask in public, not maintaining a safe distance, and going out when not necessary, the maximum fine is 3 million VND or 130 USD. Those who hide their COVID-19 symptoms or of others' shall face a maximum fine of 20 million VND or 800 USD.

Those who fail to accurately declare their health status, leading to transmission of the virus to others shall face a penalty of up to 20 million VND. Those who flee from quarantine areas, or fail to comply with quarantine regulations, or refuse/evade forced quarantine measures shall face a fine of up to VND 20,000,000.

If his/her act leads to the transmission of the virus to others, the penalty shall be decided in accordance with Article 240 of the Penal Code
