VTV.vn - The Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Hanoi chapter launched a fund-raising event on September 16 to provide computers for disadvantaged students.

The event called on Party members, public servants, and staff member in agencies in the city, as well as other benefactors, to donate learning aids for students, such as computers, tablets, smartphones, wireless transmitters and receivers, and data SIM cards.

Accordingly, each civil servant and staff at units and business in the city has pledged to offer at least one-day salary at the event.

Donations can also be sent to Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Hanoi chapter, 29 Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, or via its bank account number 1500201113838, Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) - Hanoi branch.

The fund-raising event was held in response to the programme ‘Song va may tinh cho em’ (Internet connection and computers for children), which kicked off on September 12, aiming to provide computers and telecom services for students and pupils in difficult circumstances to facilitate their online learning amidst COVID-19.

According to initial statistics, 10,000 disadvantaged students in Hanoi lack electronic devices for online learning.
