Mid-Autumn Festival comes early to needy children

VTV.vn - A Mid-Autumn journey through five mountainous communes along the Ho Chi Minh Trail has been held to raise public awareness of the responsibility to care for children, especially those in poor and remote areas.

In the central province of Quang Tri, children in Gio Linh, Vĩnh Linh, Đắk Rông Districts were granted 120 mid-autumn gifts. 30 scholarships were also given to orphans in the locality. Students at schools in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces were presented with 15,000 notebooks, hundreds of textbooks, clothes and other school equipment.  The Mid-Autumn journey was organised by the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation and the Vietnam Children Support and Development Centre.
