Ministry of Justice supports pandemic-hit people in Kien Giang

VTV.vn - The Ministry of Justice and other units under the ministry donated hundreds of millions Vietnamese dong to support local people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the southern province of Kien Giang.

On August 9-10, the Department of Civil Judgement Enforcement of Kien Giang province and the representative office of the Vietnam Law Newspaper in Kien Giang province, authorised by Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long, handed over VND500 million (US$21,800) to five districts in the southern province.

They presented VND150 million to Vinh Thuan district, VND50 million to U Minh Thuong district, VND100 million to An Minh district, VND100 million to An Bien district and VND100 million to Chau Thanh district.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of Vinh Thuan District Party Committee Nguyen Van Thoan said that the financial support will be distributed to each household affected by the pandemic so that no one faces hunger or difficulty during the social distancing period.

According to Chairman of the People's Committee U Minh Thuong District Nguyen Quoc Khoi, local leaders have continued to call for donations from organisations and agencies to take care of local people hit by the COVID-19 pandemic to help them soon stabilise their lives.
