More donations towards COVID-19 vaccine purchase

VTV.vn - More donations have been made to support the Vietnam’s COVID-19 Vaccine Fund and the pandemic prevention and control activities.

On June 18, the Trade Union of the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City branch awarded the Ho Chi Minh City Labour Confederation nearly VND385 million for the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines.

Previously, at the end of March, the university’s Trade Union also donated VND150 million to a fund of Ho Chi Minh City Television to buy vaccines.

Through two donation campaigns, the unit has contributed nearly VND535 million to the COVID-19 prevention and control work.

In addition to the donations, the university has actively converted its dormitory and the Centre for National Defence and Security Education into medical concentrated isolation camps, and has also been supporting frontline health workers against the epidemic with necessities and funds.

Kon Tum City in Kon Tum Province has received nearly VND1.2 billion in support of COVID-19 prevention and control work.

On the same day, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) received donations from Xuan Phuong High School (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi) including VND115.28 million and 65 boxes of instant noodles; VND35 million from the L’âme art project; and VND140 million from Yumup Vietnam Technology and Investment Co., Ltd. towards the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund.

As of June 17, the Bac Ninh Provincial VFF Committee has received more than VND122 billion in donations for the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund and over VND69 billion for the pandemic control work.

So far, the VFF Committee of Ha Tinh Province has received VND31.8 billion in cash and more than VND2.4 billion worth of goods. The district-level VFF Committees in the province also received a total of VND20.9 billion from relevant donors in supporting of the pandemic prevention and control in Ha Tinh.
