Online summit on global climate change

VTV.vn - Vietnamese State President Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, on Thursday, attended the opening session of the online summit on global climate change at the invitation of U.S President Joe Biden.

40 world leaders including leaders from the largest economies and the largest emitters of greenhouse gases attended the event.

The conference was held on April 22 and 23. Its main purpose is to promote the international community to make stronger global commitments in response to climate change.

The Leaders Summit on Climate is a milestone on the road to the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) scheduled for this November in Glasgow, Scotland. The Vietnamese State President will be delivering a speech at the online summit. Vietnam recognizes the urgency of fighting climate change and wants to add its voice to the call for stronger action.
