VTV.vn - ActionAid Vietnam (AAV) in coordination with the Aid for Social Protection Program Foundation Vietnam (AFV) launched a programme on August 16, aiming to support 700,000 people affected by COVID-19 across Vietnam.

Entitled ‘Together, we shall come back stronger!’, the programme is taking place from July to December, 2021 in 12 cities and provinces across the country.

With an estimated budget of VND11 billion, the programme targets vulnerable groups amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, including migrant and informal workers, unemployed workers, disadvantaged households, people with disabilities, frontline healthcare workers, COVID-19 patients, the elderly, women and children.

Under the programme, beneficiaries receive aid packages according to the needs of recipients, including food, masks, medical supplies and school equipment.

According to Board Chair of the AFV Ta Viet Anh, AFV and ActionAid Vietnam provided support to 45,000 people in 11 cities and provinces in Vietnam in 2020 in response and recovery activities during and after the pandemic.

This year’s programme aims to lend a helping hand to the Vietnamese Government and the people in driving back the pandemic in order to make a strong and safe comeback after COVID-19.
