VTV.vn - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has stated that the upcoming revisions to the land law must create radical changes in the use and management of this important resource.

The top legislator made the request on August 19 during a working session with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the agencies concerned on preparations for amending the land law.

Hue emphasised that the law has a tremendous impact so the impact assessment needs to be carried out publicly and in a subjective manner, noting that great caution must be exercised when doing research on new matters.

According to the NA leader, the system of policies and laws on land is quite comprehensive, helping to enhance land use effectiveness but a preliminary review has suggested that certain flaws need to be revised and updated.

He asked the agencies concerned to listen attentively and select the best opinions of the people and experts so that the revisions will have a long-term vision and create fundamental changes in managing land distribution.

Under the National Assembly’s agenda, the amended land law will undergo the first reading at the plenary session in May 2022 and the second reading in October 2022.

The current land law was adopted in 2013 and came into effect in July 2014.
