Traditional martial arts festival attracts 1,200 locals and foreigners

VTV.vn The eighth Vietnam international traditional martial arts festival is set to get underway in the south-central province of Binh Dinh from August 2 to 5.

As many as 65 delegations, including 16 foreign delegations, with a total of around 1,200 martial artists and masters, will participate in the event.

The opening ceremony themed "Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts - Aspiration to reach out" is scheduled to be held on the evening of August 2 at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square in Quy Nhon City.

Nearly 400 local martial arts masters and trainees, as well as famous singers, will be participating in the show. It will also see performances from international delegations.

A wide range of activities will be organizsd during the four-day festival, including a photo exhibition about martial arts practice in Vietnamese and international dojos, and tours to discover Binh Dinh province’s landmarks, historic sites, and tourist destinations.

A two-day conference on the development of Vietnamese traditional martial arts globally up to 2030 will also take place.

After seven editions through 17 years, the Vietnam international traditional martial arts festival has been organised successfully, drawing the participation of martial artists from 30 countries and territories worldwide.

The festival has always received special attention from international media of the United States, Canada, Switzerland, and France, leaving a positive impression on the global community.
