Vietnam National Team is currently training in Qatar to prepare for the challenges of the Asian Cup 2023. That's why the friendly against Kyrgyzstan is an important test for coach Troussier and his players.
Kyrgyzstan is currently ranked 98th in the world and will be a worthy opponent for Vietnam. Coach Stefan Tarkovic's side have reached the third round of World Cup qualifiers and the third round of the Asian Cup in 2019.

In addition, up to nine of Kyrgyzstan's 26 players are currently playing in European leagues, including Beknaz Almazbekov (Galatasaray, Turkey), Valery Kichin (Yenisey Krasnoyarsk, Russia), Kai Merk (Union Titus Pétange, Luxembourg) and Gulzhigit Alykulov (Neman Grodno).
The match against Kyrgyzstan will provide Troussier with an opportunity to assess his players' abilities and shape ahead of the Asian Cup. The French coach will use the results to finalise his 26-man squad for the tournament.
