At the Golden Kite Awards 2023 ceremony held in Nha Trang on the evening of September 9, Vietnam Television won 16 awards, including 3 Golden Kite Awards for Feature Films, 2 Silver Kite Awards, 2 Certificates of Merit and 9 Outstanding Individual Awards.
Specifically, in the TV feature film category, the film Mother of Straw was awarded the Golden Kite Award. The film crew also received awards for Best Screenwriter (Luong Kim Lien and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Bich) and Best Actor (Thai Hoa as Mo).
At this year's Golden Dragon Awards, the Vietnam TV Drama Production Center (VFC) and Vietnam Television achieved great success as the drama "Are You a Man?" won numerous awards in addition to "Mother of Straw". Specifically, the film, directed by Trinh Le Phong, won the Silver Kite Award in the TV drama category, the award for best director, the award for best cinematography, and the award for best supporting actress.
In addition, actress Quynh Kool received the award for Best Actress in a TV Drama for her role as Hanh in the film Don't Make Mom Angry. Actor Vinh Xuong received the award for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series for his role as Dinh Hoang Duc in the film Mental Fight.
Vietnam Television also won many important awards in the two categories of Science Film and Documentary Film. In the Science Film category, Black Hole, produced by the Documentary Film Center - Vietnam Television, won the Golden Kite Award. The film crew of Plastic Pollution: Issues of Reality and the Future received the Silver Kite Award. In addition, director Trinh Quang Bach received an individual award for Black Hole.
In the documentary category, Vietnam Television won one Golden Kite Award for the film Trap (Center for Digital Content Production and Development); one Silver Kite Award for the film Road to Peace (Central and Central Highlands Regional Television Center - VTV8); an individual award was given to director Doan Hong Le for the film Road to Peace.
The Golden Kite Award is an annual award of the Vietnam Film Association that summarizes the creative activities of the past year, honors excellent works, and recognizes the contributions and creative efforts of artists. The year 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of the Golden Kite Awards.
