Vietnam’s National Day observed abroad

VTV.vn - The Vietnamese Embassy in Russia on September 2 held a meeting in Moscow to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the National Day (September 2, 1945-2021).

In his speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi reviewed the glorious journey of the Vietnamese people in national construction and defence as well as significant historical milestones in the country’s history.

He stressed that amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vietnamese Party, State and people have made joint efforts to implement the dual tasks of preventing and controlling the pandemic while maintaining socio-economic development and ensuring people’s safety and social welfare.

On the morning of the same day, Ambassador Khoi joined embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Russia to offer flowers to President Ho Chi Minh at a monument dedicated to him in Moscow.

On the occasion, the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia released a video clip highlighting the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia in 2021.

* Meanwhile in Mongolia, the Vietnamese Embassy organised a flower offering ceremony at a local monument of President Ho Chi Minh at a school named after the great Vietnamese leader, with the participation of representatives from the Mongolia-Vietnam friendship association, Vietnamese citizens and alumni in the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Doan Khanh Tam expressed his thanks to the school’s teachers and students as well as the people of Mongolia in general for their attachment to President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam over the past few decades.

He also affirmed the embassy will continue to work closely with the school and Mongolian friends to preserve and nurture the traditional friendship between the two countries.

Over the past few days, the embassy has received flower baskets and congratulatory letters from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, the Mongolia - Vietnam Friendship Association, and the embassies of Laos and Cuba in Mongolia on the occasion of Vietnam’s National Day.

* Also on September 2, the delegation from the Vietnamese People’s Army at the ongoing Army Games 2021 hosted a ceremony at the Alabino training ground on the outskirts of Moscow to mark the 76th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day.

Visitors to the event not only enjoy songs and dances imbued with Vietnamese traditional culture but also join exciting the bamboo pole dance.
