VTV.vn - The dark side of Vietnamese illegal migrant workers in Taiwan has been candidly depicted in the documentary Mien Dat Hua (The Promised Land)

Addressing  the fate of Vietnamese guest workers in Taiwan, the documentary Mien Đat Hua (The Promised Land) provides the audiences with a prospect   about the life of many Vietnamese undocumented  workers   in Taiwan. Being made within almost 2 years with great effort in observing, filming and approaching the characters, the documentary is expected to leave strong impression on the audience when it is broadcasted on VTV Special at the end of March.

As of November 2017, the number of Vietnamese workers working in Taiwan was over 200.000 people. Among them, according to Taiwan’s  Immigration Agency, there are over 26.000 illegal workers   from Vietnam, making up 50% of all the illegal laborers in Taiwan.

Why did these laborers have to leave their jobs? How are their lives going? How did they manage to get the legal papers with the help of  Taiwanese? All these questions will be answered in this documentary.

Combining images shot  in Taiwan  with  footages compiled from different sources, Mien Dat Hua (The Promised Land) also comprehensively reveals the condition of labor export in Taiwan, what they are and will be facing everyday.

VTV Special in March - Mien Dat Hua (The Promised Land) airs 21h10 on 17/3 on VTV1.
