Agriculture sector aims to reduce greenhouse gases

VTV.vn - Emissions from agricultural production are among the main contributors to the greenhouse effect, according to experts.

In recent years, new farming models has been promoted throughout the Mekong Delta Region in an effort to reduce these emissions. In the following report, let's visit the Southern Province of Hau Giang to take a look at the efforts being made by farmers and authorities to reduce greenhouse gases from agriculture production.

These are some of the main contributors to the greenhouse effect, according to expert. Statistics show that agricultural production produced some 65 million tonnes of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in 2000. Rice production accounted for over half of the emissions, but not all farmers are aware of them.
