VTV.vn - The Lunar New Year (Tet) is near. Many of us have started preparing for this upcoming holiday, but soldiers and officers guarding the remote southwestern islands are still on their missions and would certainly not be able to go home for Tet.

For several years now, the Command of Naval Region 5 has had several activities to support these soldiers and officers, which helped ease their difficulties.

Every year when Tet is close, the Navy Command of Region 5 and representatives of many southern provinces and cities brought gifts to the southwestern islands, so the soldiers here can celebrate the Lunar New Year even though they're far away from home.

These ships have built a bridge between the mainland and the islands, where soldiers are spending days and nights guarding our nation's sacred sea region and islands.
